We are sooo sorry about the ticketing fail some of you experienced this morning! That was definitely not how we wanted to begin this year's LIB journey (curse you mercury retrograde). In order to remedy the situation we have decided to switch to a bigger ticketing company better prepared to handle the massive wave LIB Rush-N-Get-Em has become. Y'all really know how to rush! We are now set to restart our on-saletomorrow morning (10am PST Feb 19th) through the Elevate ticketing platform (who are partnered with Gingerbread, the wristband provider that is streamlining this year's box office process).  Everyone who has already successfully purchased tickets or RV and car camping passes through BeTicketing will be honored. The remaining unsold earlybird tickets will still be available during the new on-sale for 24 hours. Again, our deepest apologies. Music line-up for Lightning In A Bottle announced

Today DoLab posted the powerhouse line-up of musical performers for this year's festival.  In its new home at Lake Skinner,  Lightning In A Bottle will welcome Nicolas Jaar, Rusko, Tycho, and Paper Diamond as headliners to this summer’s festival.

Over the past eight years, DoLab’s main event has taken place over the Memorial Day weekend in Oak Canyon Park.  Due to new land use regulations the festival has not only changed its location to Temecula but has also dates.  This year things get rocking on July 11^th and run thru the 14^th.

The music lineup for the the country's premier boutique music and arts festival also includes the sounds of Miguel Migs, Eskmo, Tim Green, Cari Lekebusch, Blockhead, and Kastle. Icon of house François K, indie artist Blackbird Blackbird, L.A.’s own Jason Bentley, Herbert Bail Orchestra plus many others.  Mixtures of performance, music and installation art will be presented by Lucent Dossier Experience and William Close with the Earth Harp.

DoLab co-founder and curator Jesse Fleming sums up the music elements of Lightning In A Bottle like this, "Our goal with the music is to create a positive and uplifting experience, with a good balance of beautiful melodic music and good old party music. After 4 months of in depth research and a lot of listening we tried to cover as many genres as possible that we feel fit the vibe that we're trying to create with Lightning in a Bottle.”

TLC are friends of my buddies DoArt Foundation.  As you will read, they are in the planning stages but this is such a great program at this time of destruction and devastation that the people of the NY Tri-State metro area has never seen.  To try to create a healing arts space, especially for kids, is an excellent idea.  Young people in particular will bear the brunt of this trama.  Things that can provide some comfort and restore the belief in safety is as important as getting them back into a a safe and secure home, back to school and eventually returning to daily routines.  Please keep TLC bookmarked and help them however you can.  We are all "Together Living A Challenge".

Calling all artists - Murals for a cause

DoArt Foundation's goal is to bring artists and audiences together on as many levels as possible.  This includes non-traditional art displays.  Currently they are seeking muralists who would like to brighten up My Friends Place on Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA.  


My Friends Place is a youth shelter that specializes in providing clothing, food, counseling and other health resources.  The shelter was founded with the understanding that youth have needs very different from adults.  They have developed a non-threatening, inclusive environment that focuses on positive reinforcement.  In these efforts they have learned that the arts can play a big role.  Currently Cirque du Soliel has their own space at the facility where they are teaching kids circus arts.  


The mural project will provide positive inspiration to both the youth and the community.  Artists will work with the youth to insure their final creations truly represent them and that their voices are heard.  Artists who work in subject matter of the streets, homelessness etc - or that can reach out to community members of this kind and integrate the design to reflect them will have priority in the selection process.  This is not a paid commission.  However, all materials will be covered.  For more information please contact www.doartfoundation.org
